| The Zolder alloy wheel is named after the Zolder circuit located in Belgium, also known as the Terlaemen Circuit. Built in 1963, the 4.011 km circuit hosted 10 Formula One Belgian Grand Prix circuits in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The first Grand Prix was in 1973 - François Cevert had a lap record in a Tyrrell-Ford. Niki Lauda won back-to-back here in 1975 ,1976 and 1977 and Gunnar Nilsson scored his only F1 victory at Zolder in his Lotus. Three years later Didier Pironi became a first time winner at the track in his Ligier. Zolder now hosts several races, including a round of the World Series by Renault championship. |
